1. Agreement

By installing or playing Jericho you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the app. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

2. What Jericho is

Jericho is a game in which your real-world step count drives your character's progress. It reads your steps from your phone's own health store with your permission. It is a game, not a medical or fitness tracking product. Nothing in it is health advice, and you should not rely on its numbers for any medical purpose. Walk sensibly and mind the traffic.

3. Your account

You need an account to play: you sign in with Google, or Apple where offered, before you make a hero, and your hero, its step history, friends, guilds and duels belong to that account. Keep it secure — anyone who can sign in as you can reach your save. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. A day's steps from one phone count toward one account only.

You may delete your account at any time, in the app (Options, then Account, then Delete account) or by emailing support@coders.ph. Deletion erases your live data at once; backups roll off within 14 days. See the Privacy Policy for what that covers.

4. Playing fairly

Steps are the whole economy, so faking them is the one thing that spoils the game for everybody. You agree not to:

• falsify step data by any means — shaking devices, automated machinery, or writing fabricated figures into your phone's health store;
• modify, decompile or tamper with the app, or use altered clients, automation or exploits;
• interfere with our servers, or access another player's account or data;
• harass, abuse or impersonate other players, or choose a display name that is obscene, hateful, or impersonates someone else.

We may suspend or delete an account that does these things. Where we can, we will say why.

5. Purchases, and what money cannot buy

Nothing in Jericho can be bought today. If purchases are added later, these rules will apply.

Paying will never buy power. This is a design rule, not a marketing line, and the game's own tests enforce it: every costume grants the same bonus and the same upgrade ceiling whether it was earned by walking or bought with money. What money would buy is appearance — how your character is drawn.

Any purchase will be processed by the App Store or Google Play under their terms, not ours, and refunds will be handled by them. Anything you buy will be a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use it inside Jericho. It is not property, it has no cash value, it cannot be sold or traded, and it does not survive the game ending.

In-game coins and rewards likewise have no real-world value and cannot be exchanged for money.

6. Other players

Friends, guilds and duels mean other players can see your hero name and character card, and your step totals if you agreed to share them. Add only people you are happy to share that with. Duels, guild wars and ranked ratings are decided by the server; results it records are final unless we find they came from cheating or a fault.

7. Our content

The game, its artwork, characters, text and code belong to us. You may not copy, redistribute or make derivative works from them without permission. Screenshots and videos of your own play are welcome and encouraged.

8. Availability

Jericho is offered as it is. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, including the online services, and we may stop supporting older versions. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for step data lost or misreported by your phone's health store.

If we ever shut the online service down, we will give notice in the app beforehand where we reasonably can.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Jericho, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

You are responsible for your own safety while walking.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will say so in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to play after that means you accept the new terms.
